Head Coach / Offensive Coordinator / Offensive Line
This will be Coach Koerkenmeier’s 13th season at BVW and his 6th season as the head coach. He played at Blue Valley High School and Emporia State before starting his teaching and coaching career at BVW in 2008. Coach Koerkenmeier teaches Social Studies and is also an assistant track coach. He is married to Darcy and has two kids.
Associate Head Coach / Running Backs
Coach Copp is a 2005 BV West graduate. He played football at BVW. He’s been in education for 12 years, coached football for 15 years, and his 9th year at BVW. Coach Copp and his wife Amy have 2 daughters. He teaches Modern World, U.S. History, and AVID.
Defensive Coordinator / Defensive Backs
This is Coach Cat’s 15th year coaching high school football, 7th year at BVW, and 10th year as a defensive coordinator. He played in high school at Vernon Hills High School in suburban Chicago. After graduating from VHHS he attended Bradley University where he played rugby. Coach Cat teaches mathematics and also coaches freshman wrestling at BVW.
Coach Bandy was on the Jaguar’s first football staff when the school opened in 2001. He took some time off from football and is now in his 10th year back on the staff. He is originally from Iowa, graduating from Iowa State. He teaches Psychology, AP Psychology, and heads up the Social Studies Department. Coach Bandy is the Head Boys’ Golf Coach and is the Defensive Line Coach for the JAGS. He and his wife Sara have twins.
This will be Coach Besler’s 8th year as a member of the football staff. Coach Besler attended Blue Valley West and graduated from the University of Kansas. He was a social studies teacher at BVW for five years before taking on the role as an Instructional Coach at Overland Trail Middle School. Coach Besler and his wife Lane have a son.
Strength & Conditioning Coordinator / Wide Receivers
Coach Wright is in his 42nd year as a teacher and coach in the Blue Valley School District. He is married to Kandi and they have a daughter Ellie. He was the first head football coach at BV West and has also been the head baseball coach. He is currently the strength and conditioning coordinator in the Physical Education Department.
Coach Dickerson is in his 3rd year teaching at Blue Valley West. This is in his 3rd year coaching football at West. He graduated from the University of Kansas. Coach Dickerson is also an assistant softball coach at West. He is a part of the Business Education Department. He teaches Business Essentials, Marketing and Personal Finance.
Coach Lowe is beginning his 34th season of coaching high school football. He teaches Physical Education and coaches receivers. He started at West when the school opened and has been the only Head Wrestling coach in the school’s history. He is married to wife Staci, a PE teacher and Head track coach at BVSW. He has 3 children.
This is Coach Holehan’s 3rd year coaching high school football, 2nd at BVW. He played in high school at Oologah High School in Oologah, Oklahoma. After graduating high school, he played baseball at the NAIA level for Oklahoma Baptist University and Central Christian College. Coach Holehan teaches mathematics and also coaches baseball at BVW. He and his wife, Kirstyn, have one child.
This will be Coach Howard’s 4th season at BVW and his 34th year coaching football. In his most recent tenure, Coach Howard served as the offensive coordinator for Lee’s Summit West High School, and helped lead the Titans to 3 state championships. He is married to Susan, and has 3 children.
This will be Coach Farnsworth’s 4th season at Blue Valley West and he is currently the Physical Education Teacher at Nativity Parish school in Leawood, KS. He graduated from Emporia State University and also has his Masters from Pittsburg State University.
Joe Allison is in his 4th season as the head baseball coach as well as coaching football and teaching PE at BVW. He coached football and baseball at Leavenworth HS for 17 years. While at Leavenworth, Coach Allison spent time as the defensive coordinator, special teams coordinator, head middle school coach, and worked mainly with running backs, linebackers, and defensive backs. Coach Allison played college football and baseball for 2 years at Benedictine College before transferring to Washburn University to finish up his last 2 years of football. Joe is married to his wife Heather and has 4 children.
Coach Fritch graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Special Education and a minor in coaching. He will be entering his third year teaching at Pleasant Ridge Middle School where he has coached basketball and track. Eric is currently the 8th grade resource teacher at PRMS.
